Dubarry, the leading Irish country clothing company, is to partner with Barbury Racecourse in Wiltshire to support the leading Trainer throughout the racing season at Barbury. In addition, the brand will support an Outstanding Performance Award at the new Barbury International Point-to-Point on Saturday January 14th 2017.
“This is great news for Barbury,” commented Nigel Bunter, Chairman of the Barbury International Race meeting committee. “Dubarry is a quintessentially Irish brand with a strong presence in the UK among the racing and equestrian set. Prizes for our leading trainer across the four fixtures will serve to reward those that send runners here on a regular basis.”
The Dubarry Leading Trainer Award will be adjudged over the 26 races that comprise the calendar of events, starting with the Point-to-Point Owners & Riders Association meeting on December 4th, and including all races at the Barbury International Racing Club, Vine & Craven, concluding at the Tedworth on Sunday April 9th. Points will be awarded for winners and placed horses, on the basis of 10pts for a winner, 5pts for second and 3 points for 3rd. The winning Trainer with the most points at the end of the season will receive a voucher to exchange against Dubarry products, worth £1,000.
The Dubarry Outstanding Performance Award will be presented to the rider or trainer who puts up the most outstanding performance at the Barbury International Racing Club on Saturday January 14th, judged by a selection panel including a representative of Barbury Racecourse, Dubarry and the Point-to-Point press. The winner will receive a voucher for Dubarry goods worth £500.
Michael Walsh, Marketing Director for Dubarry, commented, ”Dubarry is a brand that fits perfectly with those in the equestrian world and those that lead an active land-based lifestyle. Many of our customers attend Cheltenham, Burghley and Badminton, and are equally at home on the Point-to-Point circuit. Having attended many such events myself, I can appreciate first-hand the value of our boots and clothing to combat the elements! We’re delighted to get involved with Point-to-Point racing’s leading venue and to be able to put something back into the sport we love. We wish all the competitors and their entourage a great season’s racing.”
